This large project – the biennial report for the Commonwealth Secretary General 2009 (PDF) – proved to be a major undertaking for editors4change. Looking to provide a review of the 54-nation association and its principal intergovernmental association, the Commonwealth Secretariat, material had to be sourced by editors4change writers – principally from interviews, case studies, background publications and reports, and ongoing liaison with Secretariat directors, heads of sections and other senior staff members. Raw material then had to be collated, written up, edited and presented in draft form. Finally the text was taken through a number of approval processes, including liaison with the Secretary-General’s office, before going to design, proofing and final sign off. The final publication, which provides an attractive and informative overview of the association’s work from July 2007 to June 2009, was presented at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Trinidad and Tobago in November 2009.
